The Fruits of our Labor…

Honeycrisp, Gala & Zestar Apples
The Honeycrisp Apples are the most established fruit trees on the farm – so unless there are late frosts, we’re likely to delight in their sweet beauty toward the end of the flower season! Looking forward to the Gala and Zestar varieties to join production in the near future.

Grapes & Figs
Establishing various grape vines on the farm has been a process! We are cultivating varieties that are both cold hardy and good for fresh eating. We’ve also been experimenting with Figs! Growing different types of figs, we are determined to find one that can thrive here.

Plums, Nectarines & Cherries – oh my!
The orchards at Feral Mountain Farm are expanding and so will the future fruit offerings! The Feral Farmer has carefully selected the most appropriate varieties for this unique climate and will be experimenting with cultivation methods to ensure successful future harvests.

Growing fruit in the foothills is interesting – with topographic challenges and being at the mercy of the weather and hungry wildlife. Add to that the amount of years it takes to get production out of the trees and vines you nurture. Once you take a bite of a Feral Mountain Apple that made it despite the odds, it’s truly the taste of victory!
Feral Mountain Farm Fact:
